This document highlights fiscal impact studies as a means to answer questions pertaining to a new development's impact on existing municipal services, schools, and infrastructure. Discusses four basic components of such a study: population determinant; evaluation of municipal costs; estimate of potential revenue generation; and comparison and conclusions.
