This PM Magazine article investigates the findings from a recent ICMA survey on citizen engagement/public participation. While a clear majority of managers view the importance of engaging the community, it is clear that current processes are not producing the quality of engagement. The article offers suggestions and ideas of how to make engagement more productive for local governments.
