Citizen involvement is essential to the success of many initiatives undertaken by local governments. As more and more municipalities face issues of sustainability, such as energy policy, carbon emissions, and climate change, engaging citizens becomes a very important source of success in addressing these challenges. The following article gives examples of how local governments are mobilizing citizens to address the challenge of climate change.
