The Crystal Darkness program was developed to combat Nevada’s growing crystal meth problem, and it used a documentary to promote prevention and to educate the community about the dangers of meth. The documentary had a real life portrayal of meth addicts, was accessible through three local television channels and the government access channel, and it was aggressively promoted by Nevada’s U.S. Senators, the Governor, and the state’s First Lady.
