This article desribes the Community Communication Network (CCN), developed by the United Kingdom to address the need of getting critical information to thier constituents. Through plasma video screens placed in a variety of public and private venues, CCN helps local officials get their message directly to the public in a relatively eye-catching manner. Its success has been recognized by a number of leading British officials, including Prime Minister Tony Blair, and its creators are now bringing it to the United States.
