This environmental covenant was provided for by the Colorado Senate Bill 01-145 (Title 25 Article 15 Part 3). This covenant is for the Red Rock Canyon 26th Street Landfill. The landfill contains an approximately 57-acre tract in El Paso County. The purpose of this convent is to protect human health and the environment by assuring long-term monitoring, maintenance and mitigation of an already closed landfill. The covenant has several land use controls such as, departmental notification for proposed construction and active inspections of the site to ensure no land use modifications or changes.
