Adopted in June 2001, this City of Leander, Texas (2008 U.S. Census Estimate population: 25,424) ordinance establishes a code of ethics for officials and employees, in order to promote public confidence in the city. It outlines ethical standards of conduct, including discussion on conflicts of interest, outside employment, and political activity.  The policy also touches on ethical behavior of former officials and employees, contractors, and lobbyists and establishes an ethics commission to administer and enforce the code.
