Because of rapid growth, the City of Sugar Land developed an extensive retail presence, but over the past few years many of the retailers unique to the City expanded to other communities. Sugar Land risked losing their retail preeminence so they developed a Cultural/Entertainment district and used a Visioning Task Force to plan the district and involve city residents in the process.
