In light of growing electricity costs at the city's three industrial wastewater treatment plants, in 2008 the City of Clearwater adopted the Motor Conversion project. Implementation of the project will save the city more than $100,000 a year as well as reduce the use of fossil fuels. The new project uses the Ample Amps technology, which is explained in the report.
