These sections of the California Health and Safety Code establish procedures for handling requests from hazardous waste facility owners to remove land use restrictions required by the California Department of Toxic Substances Control (CDTSC). Section 25202.6 provides that the CDTSC must promptly review requests to remove restrictions to ensure that the controls are no more restrictive than necessary to protect human health and safety. Section 25202.7 requires a court to review any decision made by the CDTSC regarding a request to remove of land use restrictions.
