In the Black Hills of South Dakota, the Rapid City Public Libraries, working with the Black Hills Area Community Foundation and a consortium of eight other public libraries, has created a new online service to address the need for an online community information hub. This project creates and organizes digital content in three arenas to serve this goal: news and information aggregation; online community archives; and community indicators. This initiative focuses on the management of electronic records and social media.
