The Village of Schaumburg had trouble convincing residents to recycle. Most residents complained of trouble knowing where to deliver which recyclable materials. When disposing of recyclable electronics was outlawed, Schaumburg sought a simple solution to help residents recycle. The Annual Recycling Event began as a way to celebrate Earth Day, and continued as a way to provide easy recycling for residents of the city.
