This is the 2010 nomination of Thornton, Colorado's Thornton and Adams 12 Five Star School District Civic Engagement Program for the Community Partnership Award. Communications Technician Gina Latz and Chief Communications Officer Janelle Albertson are credited with the development of a 13 year partnership with the Adams 12 Five Star School District that established a program to expose third grade students to the function and roles of the City government. The goal of this program is to foster civic engagement and interest in local government functions at a young age.
