The Netherlands has launched the world’s first solar roadway near Amsterdam. The 70-meter bike path links two suburbs, and generates solar power from rugged, textured glass-covered photovoltaic cells. Considering the miles and miles of highways found across the globe, following the technology found in this road might lead to a greener planet (if not the Emerald City).
