The Center for Management Strategies is proud to announce that one of its new civic engagement practice leaders--The Davenport Institute at Pepperdine University-- will be leading an ICMA University Workshop on "Public Engagement:  The Vital Leadership Skill in Difficult Times."

These workshops will be held on Saturday, September 21 from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. and again on Sunday, September 22 from 8:00 a.m. until noon.   Pete Peterson and Ed Everett of the Davenport Institute will lead attendees through a fast-paced, interactive look at how public leaders can better engage their residents in productive processes around tough policy issues. Participants will learn about the spectrum of different public processes, and how they can match their purpose with their process.

If you aren't able to participate in one of these sessions, be sure to stop by the Center for Management Strategies booth in the ICMA Pavilion at the 2013 ICMA Conference.  You will have the opportunity to meet Pete and Ed as well as several of the other CMS civic engagement practice leaders.

Come learn about the vital leadership skill of civic engagement and how it can help you in local decisionmaking and community building in your jurisdiction!
