Good news to share: ICMA staff members were happy to find out that copies of the May 2014 PM magazine article “Check Out the New Library,” made their way to Capitol Hill recently. Bill Young, public information manager for the Oklahoma Department of Libraries, reported ODL sent this article to the offices of Oklahoma’s five representatives and two senators and to the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the federal agency that supports libraries and museums.
The Oklahoma Department of Libraries also included it in packets for National Library Legislative Day (hosted by the American Library Association and held May 5-6 in Washington, D.C.) and sent it to its six-member Oklahoma library delegation, Eastern Oklahoma District Library System, Metropolitan Library System, Pioneer Library System, and the Western Plains Library System.
