I had read an article previously about the launch of “ladies only” taxi in Dubai.  When my ICMA colleagues Shraddha, Brit and I arrived at Dubai International Airport on our way to Kabul, we were pleasantly surprised to find a Ladies only taxi at the taxi stand.  Melina is from the Philippines and had only been working in Dubai for 3 months.  She is one of many taxi drivers in pink taxis around town that take care of only women.  We were happy to take her cab and support her as she starts her career in a traditional male dominated field.  Go Melina!
