The ICMA-RC and Cigna session titled "Bigger and Better: The 2nd Annual Game of Life," was an interactive game show in which contestants answered questions about health and finances. Competition was fierce for the prizes, which included an iPad, and there were some surprises! For example, age is the biggest risk factor in breast cancer. If you retire at 55, your years of not working from age 55 to 62 will result in lower social security benefit amounts at 65 because those years of early retirement will be included in the benefit calculation as "zero" earnings, thus reducing the overall average earnings. The combination of substance and fun was a winner for this session!
