This week, May 1–7, 2016, is Public Service Recognition Week (PSRW). Since 1985, the first week in May has been dedicated to honoring the men and women who serve all levels of government. All week long ICMA will be doing a plethora of things to bring to light the great work of all public servants.  Here is an outline of everything going on throughout this week:

LIFE, WELL RUN

@ICMA

The best way to follow everything ICMA is doing to highlight Public Service Recognition Week is to follow ICMA’s Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn accounts. @ICMA wants you to participate with us and it’s easy as 1, 2, 3!

1. Download one of two white board templates listed below.

  • Option 1: I heart public servants because…
  • Option 2: I’m proud to serve because…
  • If desired, add your organization’s hashtag or logo to the template—as long as you also keep the #PSRW hashtag.

2. Encourage your members and contacts to add a personal message to the white board and take photos to share online.

3. Post the photos on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram using the #PSRW hashtag so ICMA can track when and where it’s used.
