As many of you know, the Center for Management Strategies and its partners, the Alliance for Innovation and Arizona State University, recently completed our research project/literature review into the leading/trending practice of civic engagement.  We will be launching our CMS program for civic engagement at the Annual Conference in Boston which will include training programs, topic resources and technical assistance.  We are fortunate to be associated with some of the leading practitioners and subject matter experts in the field of civic engagement who can help you to raise awareness and develop programs to encourage public participation and translate that into better decision making and a stronger community.

As a small preview of things to come through the Center for Management Strategies,  here is an article that was written by one of our new service providers, Mike Huggins (former city manager of Eau Claire, Wisconsin) and I that provides a good general introduction to the topic of civic engagement and hopefully encourages you to want more information  on this very important topic!

Be sure to stop by the CMS booth in the ICMA Pavilion and meet Mike and some of our other great experts in civic engagement!  They do awesome work and can help you in your work in this important topic!
