In case you missed it, ICMA is reprising last year’s student video contest. The Villanova student chapter of ICMA took the grand prize last year with their send up of Lorde’s “Royals.” Since the grand prize is a trip to the ICMA Annual Conference in Seattle in September, we’re hoping to see some original ideas for how City, Town, and County managers make Life, Well Run happen. The rulles are pretty straightforward. The video has to be original, memorable, and focus on a:
- professional local government administrator, deputy administrator, or other professional staff
- process that makes the community better, including how that process was launched
- well-run local government
- community leader who helps to promote efficient, effective, and ethical local government.
The deadline for entries is June 15. You can get all of the details by visiting the ICMA website. If you’ve already graduated then encourage your student friends to enter. Who knows, maybe the next Spielberg will be in the mix.
