Hundreds of cities and counties are using the STAR Community Rating System® (STAR) to set goals, measure progress and improve their communities. STAR provides a roadmap for city managers to evaluate, assess and improve their communities’ economic, environmental and social performance measures and become healthier and stronger. It allows cities and counties to set a clear path for sustainability with helpful tools that measure and track progress towards meaningful results that save money and improve communities.

Apply now to be a part of the Fall 2015 Leadership STAR Community Program and pursue STAR certification with other communities from around the country. Download the Application and Leadership Program Info Kit today or visit the STAR Communities website for details.

The Leadership Program provides extensive staff support and services to a cohort of communities as they work through the Rating System over a 12-month period. Sixty-six communities have participated in the program (or are participating now) and almost 40 have certified with a STAR Community Rating.

This round, there are 2 exciting forms of assistance available: need-based scholarships to offset the program fee and capacity support through a new Quick Start Program with Global Green USA. Additionally the Funders' Network provides STAR certified communities the option to apply for implementation assistance through their Partners for Places grant program.
