On June 23, 2017, ICMA canvassed 1,981 ballots to select vice presidents who will take office with the 2017–2018 ICMA Executive Board (1,946 were received online and 35 by regular mail). The newly elected vice presidents will be inducted into office during the 103rd ICMA Annual Conference; October 22–25, 2017, in San Antonio/Bexar County, Texas. The vice presidents who were elected are:

  • International: Tim A. Anderson, chief administrative officer, Waterloo, Ontario, Canada
  • Midwest: Wally Bobkiewicz, city manager, Evanston, Illinois
  • Mountain Plains: Heather M. Geyer, administrative services director, Wheat Ridge, Colorado
  • Northeast: Matthew W. Hart, town manager, Mansfield, Connecticut    
  • Southeast: W. Lane Bailey, city manager, Salisbury, North Carolina
  • West Coast: Maria A. Hurtado, assistant city manager, Hayward, California

The ballot also contained a proposed amendment to Tenet 3 of the ICMA Code of Ethics. The amendment was approved.

ICMA Corporate members who served on the canvassing committee were Patti Garcia, town clerk/assistant to town manager, Windsor, Colorado; Brenda Gunn, city administrator, La Vista, Nebraska; and Randy Robertson, city manager, Aberdeen, Maryland. ICMA staff members assisted with the counting.
