Don’t Miss Out – Grab Your Organization’s Spot Innovation Academy

Development of a UAS User Application, employee engagement, mapping current and future city projects, safer neighborhoods and e-waste reduction…these are just a few of the projects developed from the Class of 2016 Innovation Academy.  Your organization still has time to grab a spot in the 2017 Innovation Academy!

The Alliance is recruiting organizations to participate in the Class of 2017 Innovation Academy, which begins this fall.  We have graduate 36 organizations and 396 individuals from the Academy in the last four years.

Through an independent evaluation we are seeing the impact the Academy is making. All the respondents in the evaluation believe that the capacity for innovation in their jurisdiction increased with several experiencing ancillary learning as a results.  And nearly all report that the benefits exceed the cost.

The Innovation Academy helped me understand what innovation is: that anyone at any level of the organization can be creative. We have a new process in the organization that will allow us to bring in ideas from city staff all the way out to community members. - Ashley Downton, Communications Specialist, City of Rancho Cordova, CA (Class of 2016)

This tested framework provides support for developing an innovative project in your community and encourages participants to recommend ways to strengthen the culture of innovation in your organization.  You can learn more about a few of the projects developed from the Class of 2016:
