ICMA and City Health Dashboard are pleased to release a new report titled Using Data to Improve Local Government Decision Making

The report, written by Paula Sanford of the University of Georgia's Carl Vinson Institute of Government, discusses a policy analysis technique called evidence-based decision making, which involves integrating data, science-based interventions, and community preferences to choose the best policy intervention for improving the health of a community. It examines the case studies of Brownsville, Texas; Kalamazoo, Michigan; and Medford, Oregon, who used this process to chart a path forward for improving public health in their communities.
