St. Louis Park has teamed up with the Center for Energy and Environment (CEE), Centerpoint Energy and Xcel Energy to bring an energy conservation program to homeowners.

Participating in this program is easy and affordable. To begin, homeowners can view a 15 minute on-line workshop by logging onto www.mnces.org/slp.

Next, participants can schedule a Home Energy Visit. During this visit, CES energy technicians will perform a blower door test to measure the home for air leaks, evaluate the home's insulation, and run diagnostic tests to ensure the furnace and water heater are ventilating properly. Based on what each house needs, a programmable thermostat, high-efficiency water fixtures, door weather-stripping, a water heater blanket, specialty compact fluorescent light bulbs, water heater pipe wrap, and a power strip will be installed. This visit is valued at $400 and is underwritten by the utilities and city, and costs residents $70.

CEE is a local non-profit dedicated to helping Minnesota residents save energy for over 30 years. For more information log onto www.mnces.org/slp or call Ashley at 612-335-5869.
