ICMA's Life, Well Run Campaign recently released its latest video, "San Antonio, Texas – A Proud, Professionally-Managed Community."

The video features San Antonio’s civic, political, and business leaders talking about how proud they are of the city, and how having a professional manager contributes to their quality of life. There are appearances by:

  • Henry Cisneros, former mayor and former U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development
  • Daryl Byrd, CEO, San Antonio 2020
  • Robert Rivard, former editor, San Antonio Express
  • Jean Brady, chair, San Antonio Library Board of Trustees
  • Johnny Hernandez, chef and owner of La Gloria Restaurant
  • Nelson Wolff, county judge, Bexar County; former mayor
  • Sheryl Sculley, city manager
  • Father David Garcia, archdiocesan director, Old Spanish Missions
  • Carrie Baker Wells, 2010 chairman, Chamber of Commerce
  • Howard Nolan, president & CEO, United Way of San Antonio
  • Red McCombs, co-founder, Clear Channel Communications.

"San Antonio, Texas - A Proud, Professionally-Managed Community" takes viewers to familiar San Antonio landmarks as the city’s leaders highlight the qualities that make them proud of their city: well-run government that delivers services efficiently and ethically; a growing economy; physical and cultural diversity; and a strong Mexican heritage.

The video is a component of Life, Well Run, ICMA’s campaign to raise awareness of the contributions professional local government managers make to cities, towns, and counties across the United States, building communities we’re proud to call home.

Earlier this summer, ICMA released “San Antonio Lives,” a time-lapse video of the city.  The third, and final, video will be released in October.

San Antonio is one of five pilot communities across the country to be showcased by ICMA in the Life, Well Run campaign.
