WASHINGTON, D.C.—ICMA, the International City/County Management Association, welcomes SMG to its Strategic Partner Program. As the nation’s leading firm providing management services for municipally–owned public facilities—including convention centers, arenas, stadiums, and performing arts facilities—SMG’s partnership with ICMA will aid members in better understanding the challenges, rewards, and logistics of facilities management.

“ICMA is fortunate to partner with a major provider of local government services such as SMG,” said Executive Director Robert J. O’Neill, Jr. "The company's commitment to providing the resources that municipalities need to advance the management of their convention, sporting, and other facilities is well known throughout the industry, and we look forward to working closely with them moving forward.”

As an ICMA strategic partner, SMG will enrich the organization’s thought leadership with its extensive knowledge of facilities management. Thanks to this new partnership, ICMA can offer its members the knowledge, resources, and experience that SMG brings through its more than 30 years of industry experience. The company will exhibit at ICMA’s 101st Annual Conference (Booth #833, Exhibit Hall 4AB, Level 4) at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle, September 27-30.

“Given our commitment to and partnerships with many cities, counties, and communities throughout North America, SMG is excited to become a new strategic partner with ICMA,” said Harry Cann, Senior Vice President, SMG. “We look forward to supporting the ICMA Annual Conference and the membership in any way we can. ICMA members will benefit from our extensive experience and successful initiatives for maximizing the operation and marketing of stadiums, arenas, convention centers, theaters and other public assembly facilities, which are centerpiece public assets for many communities."

ICMA’s Strategic Partner Program was created in 1996 as an access point for private sector participation in ICMA programs and activities. ICMA Strategic Partners have opportunities to assist professional local government managers by showcasing leading practice solutions and providing thought leadership.
