Over the last 100 years, ICMA has evolved from a small gathering of new city managers to a major international association committed to advancing professional local government management and leadership. The evolution continues to this day, and in that spirit, the association is reorganizing internally to ensure that the programs, resources, and professional development that we offer for our members and for those in the profession are calibrated for the next century.
Fundamental to this restructuring is a continued focus on services and support provided to the individual member and our leadership role in professional local government management. At the same time, the restructure addresses how we remain relevant and responsive to the profession and how we attract and prepare our members to address the issues facing local governments now and in the future.
To this end ICMA will focus on
- Providing individual support and services to its members
- Making available professional development offerings to address needs of various career stages and leadership development
- Identifying and disseminating content and best practices on local government management issues
- Providing access to consulting services on fundamental and leading management practices
- Offering products such as ICMA Insights for effective and efficient performance management.
We will approach our work with a global perspective and continue pursuing funding to work on international programs where it helps further our mission, building on our reputation and brand and our long traditions of promoting good governance globally.
We believe this restructuring will enable us to deliver services and programs more effectively and efficiently. Frequently contacted staff members are below. You can find a full directory of ICMA employees here.
