Open data – it’s the idea that data should be freely available and accessible to everyone. It’s also a tool for Scottsdale to promote openness, transparency and accountability. Each day this month we’re sharing an online resource via Scottsdale’s social media channels to help residents and visitors learn about our city.

As part of Scottsdale’s involvement in the What Works Cities Initiative, the social media campaign is one way to demonstrate how the city uses data to make decisions and deliver services. The national program helps cities evaluate how they use data and evidence to engage residents, make government more effective and improve lives.
