Beginning Friday, Jan. 15, Gainesville area residents have two new ways to report suspected fraud involving Gainesville’s city government or Gainesville Regional Utilities (GRU). The In Touch reporting system enables users to report violations of the city’s Code of Conduct and Ethics, bribery, conflicts of interest, illegal activities, theft, safety, health or environmental issues, improper accounting or auditing as well as fraud, waste or abuse.

“The new reporting service is administered by In Touch, an independent company, and it allows anyone to submit information about possible fraudulent, unethical, unlawful or wasteful conduct either by telephone or by online submission,” said City Auditor Carlos Holt.

To report possible violations, the public is invited to call 1-844-818-2492 to speak with a live operator. For online submissions, or to check for a response to a report submission, the public may also visit www.intouchwebsite.com/CityofGainesville. In addition, access to the online fraud reporting tool is available through community and government drop down menus on the main page of the City of Gainesville website and on the City Auditor's Web page at www.cityofgainesville.org/cityAuditor/Fraud,WasteandAbuseHotline.aspx.
