This year marks the 100th anniversary of ICMA and the professionalization of local government management. In honor of this momentous occasion, I am making a personal appeal for all ICMA members to join us in our ongoing efforts to advocate professional management by supporting the Life, Well Run campaign. 

As a former professional manager, I recognize that we are hardwired not to sing our own praises. However, too few people understand the contributions city, town, and county managers make to the quality of life within our communities.
