Calling All Assistants: Apply for the Assistants' Exchange!

The Assistants’ Exchange gives participants an opportunity to meet other local government professionals and learn how other communities deliver services, engage citizens, and plan for the future.

The exchange will involve spending the day as the guest of a participating local government in the Bexar County - San Antonio metro area. On Friday morning, participants will be transported from their hotels to their host communities where they will tour government operations, attend meetings, and discuss the programs, people, and issues affecting the community. The urban region encompasses several communities that have enthusiastically agreed to serve as hosts.

After the tour, interested members of the group will meet for a reception with their hosts at a venue near the convention center.

Plan to Come Early!

Because the exchange program begins early Friday morning, participants should plan to arrive in San Antonio on Thursday, October 19. Participants will be responsible for their own expenses, except for transportation to and from their host communities and lunch on Friday.

The exchange program is open to all assistants who are ICMA members. The number of assistants that the program can accommodate will be limited to the number of host communities participating. Selections will be made on a first come, first-served basis. Apply early!
