Officials in Lenoir, Caldwell County, North Carolina just cut the ribbon on a new behavioral health treatment and crisis center. The new facility will serve residents in Alexander and McDowell counties along with those in Caldwell County, all of which are in western North Carolina.
The Caldwell C3 Comprehensive Care Center will serve those with mental health issues, substance abuse issues, and developmental disabilities. Along with the center's outpatient services for long-term care needs, it is also equipped with a crisis unit suited to treat and house adult patients for up to a week.
The facility is expected to reduce the burden and costs currently being placed on hospitals and first responders by offering services that are currently unavailable to the local populations of the three counties it will serve.
