Congratulations to Daryl Delabbio, county administrator, Kent County, Michigan, who submitted the correct answer to the March ICMA 100th Anniversary Trivia Quiz!

The March question was “Who was the first woman president of ICMA, and in what year was she elected?” The answer is Peggy Merriss, who became ICMA President in October 2002. The response to the March question was huge, and we thank everyone who took the time to respond!

This month, we faced the April 15 deadline for submitting 2013 tax forms, and many of us focused on increasing, rolling over, or withdrawing from our retirement savings.  And so in honor of this annual ritual, we test your knowledge of ICMA history with the following question:

In what year did ICMA secure official approval from the Internal Revenue Service to establish a national, portable, deferred compensation retirement plan, the ICMA Retirement Corporation, a.k.a., ICMA-RC?

The first member to respond with the correct answer wins an ICMA-anniversary-branded item. This month’s prize is the official 100th anniversary 24-oz.Tervis tumbler and lid.

Find the answer to this month’s anniversary trivia quiz question among the entries in the ICMA anniversary timeline located at the top of the anniversary website. Click on any of the decades to enter.

While you’re on the anniversary website, check out “The ICMA Experience,” a collection of stories and reminisces about the organization and the profession, as told through the words of your colleagues and friends. Then upload your own story directly, or submit it to Amy Mayers at amayers@icma.org. Help us reach our goal of having at least 100 stories or other media posted by the time we arrive at the annual conference in Charlotte in September!

To submit your response to this month’s historical trivia quiz, send an e-mail to: anniversary@icma.org. Responses to the April 2014 question must be submitted by April 25. To be eligible to win, you must be an ICMA member and cannot have won the quiz in the past six months.

Good luck!
