Alachua County is hosting the 2013 Alachua County ACCESS program. The Alachua County Civic Education SerieS (ACCESS) program is citizens' tickets to go behind-the-scenes within Alachua County government.

Participants receive detailed information about the operations of county departments, special districts, and Constitutional Officers. The sessions include presentations, handouts, tours, hands-on activities and question and answer periods. This free program spans seven weeks (1/2 day each Monday) with the goal of engaging and informing citizens.

The goal of the program is for citizens to gain a greater understanding and appreciation for the complex nature of providing local government services to a wide array of stakeholders. In addition, citizens will learn how tax dollars are allocated, meet the men and women who serve the County, and become informed about how national and state trends impact local government programs and issues.
