Director of Public Services
City of Tamarac, FL
The Director of Public Services plans, directs, manages, and oversees the projects, operations, and diverse staff of the Public Services eleven (11) divisions including but not limited to, public works and utilities administration, water distribution, wastewater collection, stormwater and canals, engineering, grounds maintenance, and capital improvement and the design construction and maintenance of new development and all city streets. Performs complex administrative activities providing guidance and developing and implementing goals and policies to improve service delivery and meet population growth needs and maintain and improve infrastructure. Coordinates with external local, state, and federal agencies and ensures regulatory compliance across all divisions and actions.
Position is primarily focused on directing, coaching, developing, and evaluating other people. Position requires extensive depth of expertise and knowledge in specialized functions or business areas that can be used to develop policies and procedures as well as determining efficient and innovative ways to accomplish the organization’s business strategies. Reports to the Deputy City Manager or designee.
