The City is currently seeking qualified candidates for the Assistant City Manager for Infrastructure and Facilities position. The position reports to the City Manager and oversees Public Works (CIP, TSPLOST, and ROW and Land Management project delivery), Facilities, and Capital Construction (including Fleet), as well as other departments, as assigned. The successful candidate will be expected to provide strong leadership to the completion of currently funded projects exceeding $310 million, including transportation CIP and TSPLOST programs and facilities projects.
Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, City Planning, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. A Master’s Degree from a well-established, educationally recognized university or college is highly desired. Seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in directing a large department, overseeing multiple departments, or managing City-wide projects (especially large capital projects), programs, and initiatives, to include lead or supervisory experience, is required; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position. Project Management Professional Certifications (PMP), Professional Engineer (PE) license, and/or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) designation is a plus.
The expected starting salary range is $170,000 - $185,000 (depending on qualifications of the selected candidate). The City provides a very generous, comprehensive benefits package: retirement contributions equivalent to 22% of salary (includes employee’s 5% match); desirable health, dental, and vision insurance offerings; City-provided short-term and long-term disability; and City-provided life insurance.
