Public Works Director / Engineer

White Bear Township is recruiting an experienced Public Works Director/Township Engineer to step in and take over for our current Director who is stepping down in January 2026. The Public Works Director/Township Engineer serves as the department head of the Public Works Department and as the Township Engineer, providing leadership and direction related to operations and services within the Township. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining the standards, controls, and policies necessary to administer and coordinate the various programs and services provided by the department. The position is also responsible for seeing to the Township’s infrastructure and capital improvement needs, in accordance with the direction of the Board of Supervisors.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or experience in Public Works or a related field, preferred.
Seven (7) years of experience in municipal infrastructure and/or five (5) years supervising municipal Public Works or Engineering staff.
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Minnesota or ability to obtain within six (6) months.
Valid driver’s license.
The hiring range for this position will be consistent with the market with credit given for advanced degrees and/or experience.
