The Boone County Commission is an elected three-member governing body with a Presiding Commissioner, a Southern (District I) Commissioner, and a Northern (District II) Commissioner. The Director of the Public Safety Childcare Center oversees all aspects of the center’s daily operations and administration, and reports directly to the Boone County Commission, with one commissioner serving as the primary liaison. The Director’s essential role will be to ensure the delivery of high-quality infants, toddlers, and preschool programs while maintaining a safe and nurturing environment that meets all regulatory standards.
Boone County is searching for a dynamic leader with a unique blend of management expertise, early childhood education knowledge, and business acumen to serve as its Public Safety Childcare Center Director. This position requires five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in administering a licensed childcare facility or an equivalent combination of education and experience; three (3) or more years of supervisory and employee management experience; two (2) or more years of budgeting experience; and policy writing, development, and enforcement experience. A bachelor’s degree in management, early childhood education, childhood development, or a related field is preferred.
Candidates must also be able to obtain and/or maintain a valid driver’s license and a Missouri childcare director certification through the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
The hiring range for this position is $80,704 to $100,880, depending on experience and qualifications.
