The individual in this position provides leadership and strategic direction for the engineering, planning, building inspections, housing and economic development divisions. The Director serves as a member of the City’s executive leadership team and performs a variety of routine and complex administrative, technical, and professional work relating to assigned divisions, as well as strategic and special projects, capital project management, budgeting, public facilities planning, and policy development.

The Community Development Director leads the department’s Just Belonging work, which includes the diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) work, supports the implementation of Just Deeds Coalition initiatives, and serves as the Assistant Director of the Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA).
