The City of Little Rock, Arkansas represents an important landmark in the monumental struggle for civil rights and equal opportunity. Bruce T. Moores’ experience is the fruition of the tireless efforts of those who fought so diligently to defeat intolerance and foster diversity. Upon his appointment as City Manager in 2002, Mr. Moore took over a municipality that despite its sizable African-American population was completely devoid of African-American in leadership positions. Because of his hard work and commitment to diversity, the city now boasts a much more equitable representation in terms departmental leadership. His enthusiastic endeavors in the realm of career development are a source of inspiration to the younger generation.
