South Bay Cities Council of Governments hosted a day-long solar energy workshop for local governments and their key stakeholders in Torrance, CA on October 6th, 2014.

This interactive workshop – covering topics including solar financing, updating local solar regulations, and local government solar procurement – is part of the U.S. Department of Energy’s SunShot Solar Outreach Partnership’s technical assistance program.

Representatives from ICLEI Local Governments for Sustainability USA,The Solar Foundation,Meister Consultants Group, and the California Center for Sustainable Energy delivered a comprehensive overview of the technology, its costs and benefits, and in-depth analysis of its regulatory processes and financing options.

Following the session, national experts from the Solar Outreach Partnership provided attendees’ with customized solar energy consultation, designed as the first step to a menu of complimentary technical assistance services.
