This is the 2010 nomination of North Port, Florida's Family Service Center for the Community Partnership Award. City Manager Steven S. Crowell Jr. and Director of General Services Sherry Borgsdorf are credited with developing this center that not only houses Social Services, but 12 other non-profit agencies to provide efficient service delivery. This facility is located close to where many families who are in-need live, thereby overcoming barriers to transportation and access to services. Thus far, the Service Center has served more than 7,000 families and the Social Services division has provided more than $300,000 in financial assistance.
