It was not your everyday Forum. We had the distinct pleasure of being hosted at the Milton home of Ron Wallace, retired President of UPS International. Ron spoke to the attendees about his leadership experiences throughout his career with UPS and now as an entrepreneur. He referenced many stories in his soon to be published book, Leadership Lessons from a UPS Driver: Delivering a Culture of We not Me.
It may be hard to imagine, but a great portion of Ron’s home was built to replicate Tombstone, Arizona around the time of the infamous shoot-out with the Earps and Clantons. The forum was held on “main street” of Tombstone where Milton City Manager, Chris Lagerbloom led the attendees in discussions on Next Big Things and how trends could affect their communities.
It was a bittersweet day for the residents and staff of Milton as it was Chris’s last day with the city. He accepted the Assistant City Manager position in Fort Lauderdale, FL, and will start soon. All the best, Chris, and congratulations Fort Lauderdale!
