In a previous post, this blog discussed a variety of ways that communities have engaged in creative placemaking as part of their livable community approaches.  Many of these projects have been funded through the Our Town program of the National Endowment for the Arts, whihc has recently announced the next round of available funding.  To learn more consider checking out the following webinar.

National Endowment for the Arts hosts webinars about 2013 Our Town program, November 6 and 13, 2012 webinars include guidelines overview with Q and A

Please join the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) on Tuesday, November 6 or Tuesday, November 13, 2012 from 3:00 - 4:00 pm EDT for a live webinar about how organizations can apply to the NEA for funding through the 2013 Our Town program. (The November 6 and November 13 presentations will be the same.)

Our Town will invest in creative, innovative, arts-based projects in which communities, together with their arts and/or design organizations and artists, seek to:

  • Improve their quality of life;
  • Encourage greater creative activity;
  • Foster stronger community identity and a sense of place; and
  • Revitalize economic development.

NEA Director of Design Programs Jason Schupbach and Design Specialist Jamie Hand will lead each hour-long presentation that includes Q and A from attendees. You do not need to pre-register. To attend either the November 6 or November 13 webinar, go to

If you are not able to attend either webinar, the presentation along with Q and A from both November 6 and November 13 will be archived for later viewing at the same web location as above.
