As an organization, ICMA is deeply committed to professional local government management and supporting members who are grounded by our Declaration of Ideals and guided by our Code of Ethics as the foundation of their professional practice.
We know that many of our members are leading in environments marked by heightened tension, uncertainty, and increasingly complex community dynamics. In moments like these, ethical leadership, respectful civic engagement, and calm, constructive problem-solving are essential to maintaining public trust.
We also recognize that leadership is lonely, particularly as the operating environment for local governments becomes more complex and more politicized. Connection is one of the things our members look for at ICMA, and we know that being able to convene with peers, share experiences, and learn from one another helps you stay grounded and confident in your professional role.
To support our members in this work, ICMA is launching a series of regional connection and support calls. These calls will provide a confidential “Members Only” space for members to connect with colleagues, share challenges and emerging practices, and exchange practical ideas and resources. They are designed to complement ICMA Connect by offering real-time, peer-to-peer dialogue in a trusted and respectful environment.
The calls will launch over the next month in each of ICMA’s U.S. regions:
- Mountain Plains Region: Tuesday, March 3, 3:00–4:00 p.m. MST
- Northeast Region: Wednesday, March 4, 11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. EST
- Southeast Region: Thursday, March 5, 4:00–5:00 p.m. EST
- Midwest Region: Friday, March 6, 3:00–4:00 p.m. CST
- West Coast Region: Thursday, March 12, 1:00–2:00 p.m. PST
To participate, complete this form. ICMA staff will verify your membership and provide a meeting invitation with a link to join the Zoom meeting.
ICMA does not have all the answers to the challenges you are facing, but we know that you have much to offer one another. We stand with you as you navigate complex challenges in your communities, and we remain committed to advancing professional management practices that strengthen local democracy and improve quality of life for all. These calls are one way we are investing in connection that is practical and operational.
ICMA has added additional calls through September 2026. Access the schedule here.
