Beginning Monday, June 3, at 12 noon EDT, you will be able to register online and reserve a hotel room for ICMA’s 99th Annual Conference in Boston, Massachusetts.

Under an overall theme, “Revolutionary Leadership” this year’s conference features world-class keynote speakers include social psychologist and Harvard Business School professor Amy Cuddy; New York Times bestselling leadership author Daniel Pink; Beth Simone Noveck, founder and director of the White House Open Government Initiative and the first U.S. deputy chief technology officer; and John Jacobs, cofounder and chief creative optimist of the Boston-based Life is good company.  The 2013 conference also includes programmatic enhancements proposed by the 2013 Conference Planning Committee to supplement the abundance of educational, information sharing, and networking offerings you have come to expect.

Program enhancements include:

  • Educational sessions with more interactive room sets and presentation styles.
  • Inspirational presentations on Monday and Tuesday afternoon delivered by experts in their fields who are noted for their presentation skills:
    • Marty Linsky, leadership consultant, coach and trainer will describe the new skills local government managers must embody when change is constant, the future is uncertain, and decisions must be made with inadequate information
    • Kathleen Ronald, who will share her insights on the transformative rewards of clearing your stress factors to ensure productivity, prosperity, and peace
    • The Reverend Dr. Ronald “Ron” David will share his observations on the intertwining of science and human behavior as it relates to the challenges of public service.
  • A “learning lounge,” where small numbers of attendees can hear short presentations on focused topics.
  • An “experts bar” for one-on-one advice on social media, digital devices, and resumes.
