Delivered in a flexible, online format, MPA@UNC is a graduate degree program that prepares students to be effective leaders in public service. Students benefit from the same top-ranked UNC School of Government curriculum, courses, and renowned faculty as full-time, on-campus students. MPA@UNC is designed to build upon students’ passion, skills, and expertise in managing and leading local, state, federal government, or nonprofit organizations.

MPA@UNC is part of UNC-Chapel Hill’s MPA program, which is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration (NASPAA), the accreditor of public administration, public policy, and public affairs master’s degree programs in the United States since 1970.

ICMA has partnered with 2U, Inc., an ICMA Strategic Partner, to provide ICMA members with a valuable professional development opportunity. 2U, Inc. will provide ICMA members who qualify for admittance to MPA@UNC a $5,000 fellowship.

Through this partnership, fellowships will be awarded to ICMA members in good standing who enroll in MPA@UNC. Students will be required to remain enrolled in the program until after the expiration of the drop/add period, and fellowships will be applied on a per-credit basis—resulting in $113.64 being applied against each of 44 credits.
