Strengthened with feedback received from the library field, the Edge Benchmarks will help libraries improve and enhance public access technology services in communities. This voluntary, self-assessment program will help library leaders engage staff and local government officials by demonstrating how public access technology helps achieve community goals. In addition, it gives libraries the flexibility to grow and plan for the future. Click here to see the benchmarks.

Funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Edge is a suite of tools to help libraries elevate their public technology services. Libraries that use the Edge benchmarks can evaluate their services against their peers and learn how to improve them. Future Edge tools include resources to help libraries communicate results to stakeholders and turn data into investments in public technology.
